"Heart attack"

About: Margaret River Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I recently turned up to hospital with a pain in my chest, from the start of entering the hospital with the protocols in regard to covid, I knew I felt safe.

The lady at reception rushed me into E/D, I recall the staff were so busy but immediately wired me up, I felt terrible because I believe these people work so hard and so busy all the time but reassured me I did the right thing

I was put into the ward for the day and felt so looked after. I was embarrassed, it was like a five star hotel except for the bed in my opinion 😂 it seemed to me like sleeping on nails but slippery, least of my worries!

The staff were top shelf once again, Ami was looking after me in the wards and I felt nothing was a problem xx kept me comfortable all day. I was a bit stressed for feeling like I was a hypochondriac, but as I recall they say at Marg’s hospital, better safe than sorry.

I found the doctor was more than thorough and top of the chain with his care and response time.

Thanks so much Margaret River hospital, I believe we are so lucky to have such a professional staff and management, every time I’ve been there, and I try not to make it a habit, they have been exceptional.

Based on my experience, please get some new beds. I know it’s not a resort!

But apart from that, champion effort from a small hospital, forgot to add the people in charge of the kitchen kept me comfortable with sandwiches and cups of tea, thank you so much for keeping me fed, I know it’s a hard job as I get so hungry xxx🙏

God bless

Dear redpr75,

Thank you for sharing your experience on Care opinion.

It must of been very frightening having chest pain and having to come into an emergency department!! It is very reassuring that our concierge system is fully functional to ensure that all our patients and staff are kept safe during this pandemic.

I am so sorry about our ED trolleys we are slowly replacing them but thankyou for bringing this to our attention.

I will take great pleasure in passing on your lovely comments to our entire team - including the kitchen who work really hard to ensure our patients get the cups of tea and sandwiches they require - no matter how hungry they are!!

I hope that you are on the mend and feeling much better.

Kind regards

Marie Tweedie
