"Thanks to staff"

About: King Edward Memorial Hospital / Maternity

(as the patient),

I feel very fortunate that I was cared for by the midwifery group practice (MGP4) and other medical staff at King Edward Memorial Hospital during my pregnancy and the birth of my baby.

I felt very supported and it was reassuring to have a primary midwife who I regularly saw for my appointments and I did not have to wait at the clinic. I could also telephone and speak directly to my primary midwife or another midwife in the MGP4 team at any time. I made a few telephone calls with various concerns throughout my pregnancy and always felt listened to and supported.

I am very grateful to my primary midwife Mel who cared for me throughout my pregnancy and also for a very long period during my labour. Mel very diligently monitored my baby and I for a whole night during my labour and I felt well cared for and supported.

I required an assisted delivery in theatre and I am deeply grateful to all the staff at KEMH who assisted to ensure my baby girl was delivered safely, including the midwives, doctors and anaesthetists. Thank you to Dr Ross for ensuring my baby girl arrived safely and explaining what was happening to me. There were other various doctors in pregnancy, birth suite (including Shiva) and theatre who monitored me, answered my questions and provided care and medical guidance and I am most grateful. The doctors who provided anaesthetic in theatre were also so patient and kind and took their time in explaining what was happening to me.

Laura was the MGP4 midwife who took over from Mel during my prolonged labour and Laura was very supportive during delivery and post birth. I am so grateful for Laura's help in reassuring me, explaining things and giving me help with when and how to push in a clear, very caring and supportive way. Laura also provided excellent care immediately post birth, as did all the amazing midwives in ward 5 who I dealt with. It was then also wonderful to have the MGP4 midwives, including my primary midwife Mel, visit me and help me with checking baby and I at home in the post birth period.

Thank you to MGP4 and all the staff at KEMH who cared for my baby and I - I feel you all do an incredible job.

Dear casingjr36,

Congratulations on the birth of your baby and thank you for your feedback regarding the excellent care you received at King Edward Memorial Hospital (KEMH) during your pregnancy, whilst in labour and afterwards when at home.

It is wonderful to hear our Midwifery Group Practice 4 (MGP4) team, particularly Mel and Laura, provided high-quality continuity of care throughout your birthing experience. It is also lovely to hear our theatre staff, particularly Dr Ross and Shiva, listened to you, explained what was happening and provided excellent clinical care whilst you were in theatre.

Our staff work diligently to provide the best level of care possible and I am delighted you felt your overall treatment at KEMH was incredible. Once again, thank you for your feedback. I will be sure to send your grateful response to all staff involved.

Yours sincerely

Jodi Graham
