"Televisions and my care"

About: Myrtleford Hospital / Acute Care

(as the patient),

I had reason to be an inpatient at the Myrtleford Hospital in late December to early January. When I was recovering I noticed the television in each room was, in my opinion, extremely small and hard to hear. Would it be possible in the near future to update those televisions to a more suitable size and perhaps closer to the patient e.g. in line with the foot of the bed?

Before entering the Myrtleford Hospital I was in two other larger hospitals. The televisions were aligned with the foot of the bed (hanging from a bracket from the ceiling) making for easier viewing for the patient.

Whilst I was a patient in the Myrtleford Hospital I could not fault the care I was given, attention to detail and a lot of compassion.

I believe we are lucky to have such a lovely hospital in our lovely town.

Hello myrtleford21,

Thank you for your feedback about your stay at Myrtleford hospital. I am glad to hear you received great care with attention to detail and with compassion.

We are currently in the process of seeking funding for new larger TVs with a handheld remote/speaker/call bell/light switch. Thank you for the suggestion of aligning these with the bed, we will take this into consideration.

Kind regards,

Lisa

Nurse Unit Manager

Hello myrtleford21,

I am pleased to inform you, thanks to a generous donation from the Myrtleford and Community Op Shop, new large screen TVs with handheld sound controls have been installed in each room in the acute ward and Barwidgee Lodge.

The new larger screen TVs will improve the patient and resident experience in our facilities.
