The staff at Kalamunda Hospital palliative unit were very supportive, respectful and caring. Wonderful care was given to our elderly dying Mum. Every care was also extended to family and visitors as well. The setting was very peaceful and relaxing. Large shady trees, beautiful rose garden. Every palliative room has a window with a garden view. We were there just before Christmas and there were pretty fairy lights all down the corridors and outside in the atrium/garden.

We were very pleased and relieved we made the choice of the Kalamunda palliative unit.

Firstly, please accept my sincere condolences to you and your family for the loss of your loved one.

Thank you for taking the time to reflect with us on your families experience at Kalamunda Hospital and for your kind words and recognition of the team whom provided such wonderful care for your mother. I have shared your experience and gratitude for the wonderful care your loved one and family received with the team at Kalamunda. I know the team will appreciate your lovely feedback and recognition of the care they provide on a daily basis to their patients, families and visitors.

I am truly proud of our staff at Kalamunda Hospital and their commitment to supporting patients and their families through their palliative care journey. I am pleased to advise that Kalamunda’s role and future as a specialist hospital has been reinforced following the announcement of a funding package to enhance palliative care services even further than what you and your family experienced. Kalamunda Hospital is expanding services to include a day hospice and outpatient services. Some of the improvements that are currently underway include upgraded rooms with ensuite bathrooms and improved access to outdoor areas. I wholeheartedly agree that the gardens and setting at Kalamunda are very peaceful and relaxing and look forward to improving access to these areas even further for our patients.

Once again, thank you for expressing your appreciation for the care provided by the team and for our facilities provided at Kalamunda Hospital.
