"Exceptional care of resident and their family"

About: Killara Hostel Kooweerup Hospital (Westernpoint Unit) / Allied Health

(as a relative),

Having dementia changed our lives overnight. The care from staff, initially at Koo Wee Rup Regional Health, made such a huge difference to what was an overwhelming change to our family.

Mum had been in the care of the amazing staff at Killara Hostel for just a little over 8 months and they continued to support me in making sure Mum was in the best care possible.

While she was not the Mum I once knew, she was happy (most of the time) and so well cared for by the beautiful girls in Bass.

A big thank you not only from me, but I’m sure if Mum could, she would say thank you too 😊

Dear camelopardalisjf74,

Thank you for taking the time to provide such wonderful feedback to our team.

As you say, a diagnosis of dementia for a family member can be extremely challenging and life changing. I am so pleased that the team in Killara have been able to support you and your mum - the staff there are very skilled and very committed to providing high quality, compassionate care. It is so important to hear that mum was happy and you were well supported.

Thank you again for your feedback - the team will really appreciate it.

Kind regards,

Noni
