Dear Bass Coast Health.
Recently, my parent fell at home and broke their hip, spent about 36 hours in your emergency department. The care there was great.
My concerns are that around 6-8 months ago, my parent underwent a Fall and Balance Clinic assessment with a member of staff. There were recommendations for physiotherapy, mobility issues. A referral was done and my parent was placed on the waitlist.
A few months later, my parent had a fall at home and MasterCare was updated to high priority and the information was included. Then of course, this has happened.
I can honestly say that I'm very annoyed with the system, covid 19 excuses and the apparent lack of care factor. My parent has mobility problems and vestibular problems. I wonder how many more people/families are out there in the community feeling the same way. The CEO and Board say they are all for saying community matters, but I question is it really.
Regards,
