Recently I developed chest pain while isolating at home with COVID. I wish to pass on my heart felt thanks to the Royal Perth emergency department team. How can everyone be so nice, when it’s so darn busy?
From the first person I met at the Super Tent until I left the ED, everyone had time for me and never made me feel bad, even though it was 'just COVID' and I was able to go home. They explained to me how long my wait will be and what they were doing to me and listened patiently to my story.
I felt guilty coming to an ED during a pandemic when I am young, vaccinated and usually well, but I was scared. The ED staff immediately reassured me that my visit was warranted and got me home quickly, with the medicine I needed to feel better.
Special mention to Nurse Larissa and Doctor Kerry who cared for me so well. I also got to meet Karen, Dave (who looked like he was wearing snorkeling goggles and made me laugh) Cat, and Nathan.
My pain is gone, but my gratitude remains. Thanks RPH ED :)
