About: Geraldton Hospital / Day Surgery Geraldton Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

Was admitted in day surgery unit due to wound complications. All the nursing staff who I dealt with were brilliant despite how busy I recall they were. I got dizzy just looking at them on their feet all day and all night.

Although I could not say the same about a clinician in ED who I believe sent me home without a proper check with my laceration, was stitched and got infected.

Although I can say, one staff member who worked that day I felt was such a bully to their colleagues, and unprofessional in my opinion. I felt sorry for their colleagues.

But overall, hats off to the nursing staff in Geraldton Regional.

I was very pleased to hear how well you were looked after in the Day Surgery Unit. Their efforts in providing brilliant care whilst in such a busy environment shows their commitment to looking after our community. I will ensure they receive your feedback and my appreciation for their efforts.

I am very concerned to read that your wound required a 2nd presentation to the hospital due to complications. I would like the opportunity to have this clinically reviewed in more detail, if you are happy to contact me to give me some additional information to enable this. I would also be happy to further investigate your worrying comments about staff bullying, which we do not tolerate.
