I was waiting for the birth of my baby in Hedland Health Campus. My blood pressure was a little bit high as with my first pregnancy. The doctors were monitoring my blood pressure and during a check-up in the month prior, they decided to administer other medications and to monitor it overnight.
It was normal the whole night as confirmed by the night and morning shift midwives. The specialist clinician on the next day, who I believe was visiting, started to be rude. I felt it was to try to influence that I have inductions, but I insisted I wanted to have a natural birth, as my blood pressure they deemed was high. I was surprised since the midwives had confirmed it was normal overnight. I then told the clinician I want to consider the decision with my spouse but I recall they insisted to have me induced in 2 hours if my spouse doesn't arrive within an hour. I the told the morning shift midwife about what the clinician had said whilst waiting for my spouse who was 20min away. The midwife then went to see the clinician and they came to inform me that I was discharged as the blood pressure had responded positively to the new medication. My spouse was surprised by these change of events when they came to pick me up.
It's unfortunate I couldn't remember the name of this visiting specialist clinician on that day at Hedland Health Campus but I feel I need this addressed so that no other woman might be influenced to make a decision they don't want without major health risks, by the same clinician. I am willing to give further information if the health department are willing to resolve this from recurring.
