"Treatment for severe burns"

About: Pingelly Health Centre / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

On Good Friday, I was quite badly burnt from a pot of boiling water at my family farm.

My Mum took me to the Pingelly Health Centre where I was treated in person by two nurses, Shirley and Carmel, and via Telehealth by other physicians.

Being in a country town and so far away from an ED I was concerned however the care I received from both Shirley and Carmel, physician Alex, and NP Robbie was exceptional.

Dear bracewr36,

Thank you for taking the time to share your positive experience at Pingelly Health Centre.

It was great to read that you felt your care and treatment was of a high standard, this is what our teams strive for.

We are proud of the Emergency Telehealth Service (ETS), as it reduces the number of unnecessary transfers to other hospitals by allowing our patients living in rural communities to have access to specialist services closer to home.

Receiving timely treatment for a burn makes all the difference to a patient’s recovery, and I hope you are recovering well.

It will be my pleasure to pass on your appreciation to Shirley and Carmel at Pingelly, along with Alex and Robbie from the ETS team.

Wishing you all the best,

Jenny Menasse
