About not too long ago I developed a suspicious infection overnight. As it was a weekend, the only option was to go to the emergency department at our local hospital. Apart from having to wait outside until RAT 'cooked', getting progressively colder, I was seen immediately, doctor consulted, tests done and husband kept abreast of what was happening care of a conveniently placed window (COVID rules in emergency, patient only). I was admitted for a few days of intravenous antibiotics. The room was comfortable- even came with a Satin Bowerbird bower right outside my window with plenty of action. The nursing staff and ancillary were wonderful; attentive, professional and friendly and the meals were simple but tasty and suited me fine. Husband could visit whenever so all well. My first experience as an inpatient and very pleased to know that we will be well cared for when necessary and that transfer to another hospital or for special tests etc all catered for. Thank you to everyone involved.
