"Lack of effective and efficient care in ED"

About: Atherton Hospital / Accident and Emergency

(as a service user),

Had been in the emergency department a few weeks ago with a severe sprained/twisted ankle was seen then released with advice to rest my leg and utilise ibuprofen and panadol.

I was informed to the front back up to the ED if the pain got worst and if it didn't heal.

So recently I arrived just after lunch and at the time of writing this, it was now 7 hours later. In this time I was triage and told to wait for the doctor.

In discussing this verbally with others, one individual has been here 2hrs longer than I, and another person has been 2hrs less than me, and upon speaking with them, they expressed to me that they are disgusted with the service of care provided.

Based on my experience, effective and efficient care is not at the fore in the Atherton ED, in my opinion.
