"Vaccinations"

About: Geraldton COVID Vaccination Clinic Midwest Health

(as a parent/guardian),

Massive shout out to Amanda! Took my daughter to be vaccinated recently, never a fun task for any mum. My daughter was initially ok about receiving her second vaccination, but became vocal and combative and it escalated quickly into what was going to become a full scale meltdown. Amanda quietly popped over to chat with my child and together they were laughing and out came the stickers and bubble machine. Tears dissolved and the needle done and dusted without any more fuss. It did help that my daughter knew and trusted Amanda from swimming, but she was busy with other tasks and stopped those immediately to reassure and care for my daughter. What was a stressful bomb about to erupt was diffused and I can’t say thank you enough.

Please pass on my gratitude to her for caring about the well-being of my daughter :)

Dear capricornussk56

Thank you for sharing your story on Care Opinion.

I will be delighted to give a massive shout out to Amanda next time I see her. You have described perfectly her passion and commitment to overcoming any barriers to vaccinating our community to keep us safe.

I can certainly appreciate the potential for a meltdown during the vaccination of a child. I’m glad Amanda was able to use her prior knowledge of your daughter to avoid this situation from occurring and to ensure the vaccination was administered to a happy and laughing child.

Thank you again for sharing your story.

Kind regards,

Kumar Deep
