"Two autistic children with different presentations"

About: Albany Health Campus / Emergency Department

(as a carer),

Recently we presented to Albany ED with our children, our son who is epileptic, autistic and a range of other chronic medical conditions along with our daughter who is autistic. Dr Emma (sorry if the name is wrong but starts with an E I’m sure) she made the kids feel both at ease and even had them both laughing which is a rare occurrence. I believe she is a credit to the ED department and deserves a hug I think for everything they have to deal with.

Dear Dobby,

Thank you for your kind words on Care Opinion. We have shared your story with Drs Emma and Emily (just to cover all our bases) as well as the rest of the team. We know that emergency departments can be scary and complex places at the best of times, so it is very reassuring to know that Dr E was able to reassure and entertain your children whilst delivering safe and high-quality care.

I hope you are all well and enjoying this autumnal sunshine while it lasts.

Best wishes

Dr John van der Post

Director of Emergency Medicine

Albany Health Campus
