"Responsive staff member"

About: Swan Hill District Hospital / Acute Ward

(as a relative),

On arriving at work I found an elderly relative being a patient in the Acute Ward. I asked them if the family had been informed as had been brought in by Ambulance and they said I think so. On checking with family members no one had been informed of their admission.

On approaching Bobby to let him know that the family was unaware of my relative's admittance, he immediately contacted their next of kin and asked that all family members also be contacted. Thank you to Bobby for his immediate response and caring manner at a rather busy time on the ward.

Dear cubenc47,

Firstly, thank you so much for alerting one of our staff that your relative's family did not know of their admission, so that they could be contacted and updated. This is great partnership when family members work with our staff to ensure the communication and care is all attended.

Secondly, thank you for taking the time to write about your experience with this nurse and how his immediate response and caring manner made a difference. We all aim for Connected Care, Best Experience, and on this day (and of course many others) Bobby did such a great job. The organisation is very proud of the professionalism of the staff in Acute Ward.

I do hope your elderly relative is recovering from their hospitalisation.

Kind Regards

Chloe
