"My son having bronchitis"

About: Exmouth Health Service / Emergency Department

(as a parent/guardian),

I am so thankful to the nurse that helped me and my son as soon as we arrived to Exmouth Hospital. I found she was well presented meeting her and took us straight in to get checked up. We had just driven over from another town so we weren’t expecting to be taking the first drive to the hospital!

The nurse made us feel welcomed and got straight into it. Made me feel at ease that my son was in good hands! Gutted I can’t remember the nurses name! Also the doctor that was on hands at the same time was there to get us settled in and set up for the night! Made me and my son feel safer!

My son recovered really well from Bronchitis over night and woke up all happy being his happy self again! I hope this reaches the nurse and doctor that was on at Exmouth hospital :) If it wasn’t for them both, I believe my son could’ve been more sick but he isn’t! Big thank you to you both and I hope you will receive great and well recognition for this! Cannot thank you both enough!

Dear Hylz,

Thank you for sharing your wonderful story on Care Opinion. I’m glad to read your son is back to his usual happy self.

I was so happy to read of how both the nurse and doctor made you and your son feel welcomed. It is crucial that we endeavour to make patients and their family feel relaxed and at ease when they are feeling unwell and vulnerable. I’m sure the staff involved will recognise themselves when I share your feedback and thank the Exmouth team for their continued commitment towards their community.

Kind regards

Karen Horsley
