"Sick child"

About: Sale Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a parent/guardian),

Took my toddler child to emergency after not being able to get a doctor appointment at local gp for 2 months, we were greeted with happy smiling faces, my child's issues weren't severe but after not recovering from their last cold, to get a cold again and even worse with a rash under the skin on their face, I felt I was not taken seriously as a young parent and after waiting 4 and half hours I decided to leave as my exhausted child could not wait any longer and became hyper active due to tiredness and got told to book with my gp that I cannot get into. Again after being sick for most of my child's life, Sale Hospital once again didn't seem to take me seriously and in my opinion, didn't care.

Dear Blah,

My name is Mandy Pusmucans and I am the Director of Nursing at CGH. I am sorry that you felt you weren't taken seriously and that we didn't care. This is not what we aspire to.

The team, through their Nurse Manager and the Senior Medical Officer, will reflect on your story. To this end, it would be useful to have more detail. If you felt comfortable to contact me to provide this, it would be appreciated. My phone is 5143 8512 or via email at mandy.pusmucans@cghs.com.au.

I do hope that your child is feeling better. And again, I apologise for your experience.

Kind regards

Mandy
