Hello,

After a nasty fall and a rough night, I relented and went to Albany Hospital. Well from the moment we walked in, me ever so gingerly, pain pain. From reception to nursing staff to Dr Airell (wonderful) to CT scan nursing staff. Everyone helped and cared for me brilliantly. Even offering my partner a cuppa as I was in the scan machine twice and he was anxious, kind words of she'll be okay. Cuppa?

I know that there had been poor reports of the care at Albany Hospital...based on my experience, you've got to be kidding people. Really! I can't speak highly enough of my overall time being cared for very very thorough, hence the second scan just to double check. I recall it was 5 and a half hours in total and worth every minute. Also the follow up phone from Uoshi the next day was very caring and much appreciated. So in a nutshell: brilliant, professional, caring, genuine, kind!

Is the doctor in charge of the emergency department and the high dependency unit.

Thank you for sharing your experience of the emergency department on the Albany Health Campus on Care Opinion. We have let Dr Airell and the team know, as well as the hospital’s leadership team.

To use your words “brilliant, professional, caring, genuine and kind” is what we aim for: delivering safe and high quality healthcare to every patient, every time. However, EDs are complex and busy environments so sometimes we don’t quite hit the mark, so it is always lovely to hear when we do!

I hope you have fully recovered from your fall.
