To whom it may concern,
We write to you today to provide feedback on the maternity ward at HHC and our recent experience with the birth of our firstborn son.
We honestly can not praise the department staff enough!
From the moment we were contacted for our first antenatal appointment to the moment we were discharged after giving birth the staff went above and beyond to provide us with the highest quality of care.
Giving birth is a very daunting and scary experience for a first-time mother and the ladies in the department that attended to me took the stress and anxiety away.
They were always there to offer help and advice, but were never intrusive or pushy with their thoughts and opinions, they provided exceptional care to not only myself and newborn son but to my husband as well, he was always included in what was happening and guidance and advice offered.
Before giving birth I could never understand how people could say something that seemed so painful and intense could be a “positive experience” but after giving birth at HHC, I can fully appreciate this saying and use it myself.
I would like to mention several staff in particular who contributed to my experience, Claire, Emily, Jess, Jess (student midwife) and Bonita.
These 5 ladies are the most calming and caring people I have ever met. They are amazing at their jobs and deserve to be recognised for their bedside manner and knowledge.
Along the journey, we had several small hiccups that needed extra appointments and were always with Crystal.
Crystal was also a true asset to your department based on my experience. Her medical knowledge and advice was second to none, but her personal knowledge of remembering us and our baby really added that extra touch that put us completely at ease.
We were provided with an experience we will never forget for all the right reasons and wanted to ensure these amazing humans received the recognition they deserve.
We can not thank them enough.
