My father-in-law has covid. He was at risk as an older person. He has been receiving treatment from the CMC Prince of Wales covid care unit.

I felt we got really good care from the nurses Francis, Steve, Marissa and Anita and all staff we encountered. They call us and check in with us at least twice a day. Whenever we need help, they give us instructions. We feel so scared because he has diabetes, Alzheimer’s and poor lung function, all sorts of complications. We are so worried for him and every time they give us really good help, we really appreciate it.

Even more recently his blood oxygen level was a bit low, they helped us call and report to the doctor. We were under instruction to see the ambulance service and now he is much better, he responds better. He manages through the difficult times and without CMC covid team help I believe we couldn’t make it. I want to say thank you from our family.

We are very sorry to hear that your father-in-law has been so unwell and hope that he is now recovering from his illness, It is very difficult for families when their loved ones are so unwell and we are very pleased to read that our CMC service was so responsive and supportive to you and your family.

We will ensure that your kind words of thanks and gratitude are shared with Francis, Steve, Marissa and Anita and all staff within the COVID Management Team. It is wonderful to hear that the team was able to support your family and provide sound clinical advice to deter any further deterioration in your father-in-law's condition.

The CMC team are a highly professional team who pride themselves in providing patient-centred care and compassion. Your feedback has helped us understand how valuable and important the CMC service is to our patients and our community.
