"Patient as an individual"

My husband recently received care from this service here in Albany and I wanted to give some feedback about our experience.

When we were in Perth at a different hospital it was very stressful and on discharge I was not confident that there would be continuity of care given the problems we had had with communication, so I phoned the Albany Health Campus to ask their advice and from that moment on everything began to become more positive.

The hospital in the home service is an amazing service. All the nurses who involved manage to balance their professionalism with their ability to show that they truly care about their patient as an individual. Their honesty and easy to understand communication about the patients condition is exemplary. Nothing was too much trouble , and no question went unanswered . When my husband was discharged from their care we felt prepared to take responsibility for his well-being … however we really missed their positive vibe that they brought with them every day!

I would really appreciate it if they could be given a huge appreciative thank you … there is no doubt that their input into the care of my husband improved the quality of his life at a very very stressful time .

I have worked in healthcare for many years and am well aware that a measure of a good leader is the quality of their staff … so that is to say in my opinion, their manager must be of a very high calibre and clearly models great communication.
