Went to the Geraldton hospitals Ed department for eye issues that were just getting worse. Got to meet the amazing awesome and otherwise totally spectacular Erin who took my vitals and what an incredibly compassionate, caring and positive nurse I found she was! Sent me to a young nurse who I now call "the amazing snozzle picker" as I didn't feel a tickle and with that whole part of my craggily old face being super tender, that's good going!
And so with a pass I was shunted along to the waiting area for triage... the lovely young "snozzle picker" leading me like the blind old patient I was and after a short wait the most amazingly smooth Dr Monika appeared... and for the next hour or 3 she tried different pain inducing activities to try to work out what was going on with my eyes... so many quiet apologetic 'sorry', 'I'm so sorry', 'you poor thing', I found she was incredibly sympathetic, professional to a T and amazingly gentle and patient.
Finally to the lovely new nurse, I believe only 12 months in doing her Ed rotation, who finally took the somewhat painful canula out of my arm chirping along happily asking questions and being patient and kind to the still almost blind old fella in one of the 'fast track' cubicles, fast track, in my opinion, being the hospital's sense of humor on display.
What incredibly wonderful polite, caring and above all quietly efficient and professional all the staff I met were!
"Staff were awesome"
