"My admission by ambulance"

About: Ipswich Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a service user),

The ambulance transported me to Ipswich Hospital and I was on a stretcher just inside the doors for about 20 mins. Then I was wheeled into a cubicle where I was put on a wooden chair to wait for approx 11 hours before any nursing staff came near me, I was having problems breathing and my ankles/feet/legs were really swollen.

I was constantly having to use the toilet but couldn't get there on my own as I was breathless. A staff member came twice to test me for Covid 19 but no one else checked on me. I felt I was just going to die there as couldn't breath properly and felt nobody cared about me as I was a an elderly patient and it seemed not worth wasting time on.

Close to midnight, someone put me in a wheelchair and took me into a proper cubicle and some nurses and a Dr came to see me whose voice I found was hard to understand. They told me after midnight I was being admitted to another ward.
