I would just like to mention how great I think the midwives individually that I saw, and as a service are at the Collie Hospital. The care I received during my pregnancy, the birth of my son and post partum has been exceptional. I have had continued support every day either in my home or on the phone with breast feeding, advice about my baby and caring for myself. I can't thank them enough! It's great they are so accessible in a small town like ours.

Thanks so much for taking the time to feedback about your experience with the Collie Midwifery Group Practice in amongst what is often a full life with a new babe.

Breastfeeding and adjusting to the life with a new babe is something a lot of women struggle with as there can be so much conflicting information out there and it's easy to lose faith in our ability and trusting we know what our little one needs. Strongest predictors of breastfeeding beyond 6 months include a mother's self efficacy or your sense of how well you are breastfeeding, social support and breastfeeding education. Continuity of care with a midwifery group practice provides and encourages all of this and consequently women who receive care through an MGP are more likely to successfully breastfeed and are less likely to experience postnatal depression.

Its those daily visits at home and 24/7 availability over the phone and support from the same person that make the difference. Its just so wonderful that you were able to experience that in Collie with the midwives on the MGP in such a positive way.
