"Bulk billing"

About: GPs in the North West Central Electoral District

(as the patient),

I’m on disability pension and my local GP has recently stopped bulk billing. I have to fork out around $100 now and it’s going to cost about $12 for scripts which I get some of it rebated. I’ve found there’s so many people my age and older who can’t afford it now. I don’t have that money, that’s more money than I can afford to lose, it would take me 3-4 months.

How do we afford that?

I have to take really strong painkillers every month, I have to go there. Plus the closest one is over an hour away in Northampton, but I can’t even drive because I have a bad leg and I’m epileptic. I know other people my age and they have no money, so they’ve got no hope, so they’re just not going. That’s what people are doing now, because they can’t afford it they don’t go.
