"My friend's palliative care"

About: Wheatbelt Regional Palliative Care

(as a carer),

My friend was admitted to the General ward of Northam Hospital and later transferred to the Palliative care beds in the same hospital. The staff at the hospital were awesome from the clinical staff to catering and cleaning staff. Garth and the team from the Palliative Care went above and beyond in their care and support of both my friend and myself even if it was just a cuppa or a chat.

Their follow up care and compassion following my friend's death has been nothing but heart felt and even extending to the concern for my spouse’s recent health scare.

I wish to pass on my deepest gratitude to all involved.

Kind Regards

Dear correspondencepp47,

Please accept my sincere condolences on the passing of your friend and thank you for taking the time to share your experience regarding their end-of-life care.

It is pleasing to know that your friend received such compassionate and high-quality care from the regional Palliative Care team and the Northam hospital staff and that you were able to spend quality time together.

The Palliative Care team is a highly skilled team, and they place paramount importance on ensuring patients receive the best quality end-of-life care and provide support and guidance to the family during this period. I will take immense pleasure in passing on your appreciation to the Palliative Care team, hospital staff and to Garth specifically, I know that they will all appreciate receiving your kind words. I will also acknowledge your appreciation for the support you received for your spouse’s recent health scare, we are glad to hear that it was just a scare.

Again, thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback and our thoughts are with you and your loved ones during this time.

Kind regards

Basil Paulose

A/Regional Nursing and Midwifery Director
