About: Geraldton Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a parent/guardian),

I received an anxious and very tearful call from my daughter whom is staying in Geraldton that she had injured herself at a sport tournament. Possible broken finger. Worst thing ever as a parent to hear your daughter in pain and your kms away.

After arranging someone to take her to ED they were met with the most helpful staff. After the standard  Rat test screening she was X-rayed almost immediately. She was checked in on and advised all the way through. Practically just over an hour from arriving she was discharged.  Her escort said it was amazing service from start to finish.  Thank you so much to everyone involved with her care from start to finish.

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your daughter’s story with us.

I can appreciate how distressing this situation was for both your daughter and you and I am pleased that our team were able to provide your daughter with a high level of care and reassurance.

The staff actively live and serve in the communities in which we belong and can empathise as to what it feels like to be a parent away from their child when they are vulnerable and in pain.

I am very glad to pass on your kind words to all the teams involved, they will be happy to have their efforts acknowledged.
