"Bakers cyst/parrot beak tear"

About: Albany Health Campus / Day Procedure Unit Albany Health Campus / Operating Theatre Albany Health Campus / Recovery Albany Health Campus / Surgical Ward

(as the patient),

I did something to my knee and I went to the drs and they said it was a baker's cyst. They told me I had to take anti-inflammatory and go see the physio, so I did those things but the physio could not see a problem with my knee. So they told me to back to the drs and have a referral to the surgeon and have a MRI which showed a 5cm baker's cyst and a parrot beak tear. I went and saw the surgeon which they said (to my surprise) we'll operate on you in the next 3 months. The 3 months flew by and my operation came closer and closer, I was nervous about all of this surgery and what to expect from it all.

D-day came I was booked in at the hospital and they were so good nurses/drs/surgeons. They put me at ease and explained everything to me. I got excellent care before/during and after my procedure. I would like to thank everyone who took wonderful care of me.

Now the hard part is where I do my physio and take care of my knee 😅.
