"My pregnancy and child"

About: Caboolture Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

During my pregnancy at Caboolture hospital each anti natal appointment my blood pressure was high and I had proteins in my urine however they would take my blood pressure till it was normal and said the protein was normal. I also went into emergency 4 times from 33 weeks with preeclampsia symptoms but again was told the protein was normal and sent home.

Fast forward 40+2 I was induced with preeclampsia. My overall birthing experience was wonderful however I felt the appointment and emergency were lacking.

My child is now a few months old and after contacting 13HEALTH about some concerns recently, I was advised to go to hospital. About 60 mins after arriving at Caboolture hospital we were seen by a nurse who weighed my child and did a ketones check, I managed to get them to fall asleep and 4.5 hours later, asked how much longer our wait would be as it was past midnight.

I was advised around 18 people were in front of us and, because my child was asleep and not in any form of 'distress', other patients were put above them despite my child's symptoms of being ill so young.
