I had a meniscal tear and a ruptured bakers cyst in my knee. I tried going to emergency as the pain was shocking. I was left in the waiting room for about 4 1/2 hrs, no pain relief what so ever, even though I had asked. When the doctor saw me, I recall they didn't even examine the leg which is full of fluid. It seemed they got a nurse to give me some neurofen before sending me home. I felt the doctor should have at least examined me.
I had a referral sent to the hospital a few weeks ago. At the time of writing this, I have just heard from them saying I can't see an orthopaedic surgeon till a couple of months time. What do I do about the tear in the knee in the meantime, my local doctor can't do anything to help there apart from advise to have anti inflammatory drugs and pain killers.
