About: Lives Lived Well – Nowra (Nana Muru)

(as a service user),

My GP thought I may have had an issue with alcohol and before my liver deteriorated the GP referred me to Nana Muru. I had family history of my father drinking heavily and dying early so I didn't want to follow that path.

I found that I was drinking a lot daily and I was never having an alcohol free day. Alcohol occupied my thoughts daily from the mornings before I acted on the thoughts and had a drink.

I have found the detox program at Nana Muru has been really good and I wouldn't have stopped drinking without their help. I have found being accountable to the workers was a pretty strong motivator. I couldn't have done this on my own.

Thank you for letting us know how you found our at home detox service, run by Nana Muru, Nowra! It's great that you took the first step and called Lives Lived Well after discussing your situation with your GP. The journey is a shared experience and with the help of lots of people and services you will continue to meet your goals and live an alcohol free life.
