"Hospital aftercare"

About: Royal Perth Hospital / Operating Theatre & Recovery

(as the patient),

I was a patient in ward 3H Royal Perth Hospital following an operation. After the 4th day, I recall a nurse advised me that I was to be moved to a step down as this hospital specialised in Rehab. I packed my belongings away patiently waited on the move. I repeated this for about the next few days being told that they were waiting on a bed becoming available. The same nurse came back to work and told me that they were arranging for me to be sent home and would arrange home visits to assist me with toileting and showering as I am non weight bearing.

At the time of writing this, I have now been home over a week and had nobody out to help me with the above. I called Silverchain who advised someone at Royal Perth had declined my referral this was despite me even getting my GP involved. The apparent lies, in my opinion, that it seems the nurses have been telling are really concerning to me, saying I wanted to go home and that I was toileting and showering by myself whilst in Royal Perth. Something has to be done about this as I feel this is a major concern.
