Recently, I had an appointment for a PET scan and CT scan. The PET scan was dealt with on time but afterwards I was left in a corridor waiting for the CT scan for almost an hour. Yes the department was busy but no one came to say my scan would be delayed.
After the CT scan I was left waiting again for the canular to be removed. Eventually I went to find the nurse myself as I have a port and knew the specified nurse was the only one dealing with ports! I recall they said I was lucky because they were due to leave!
Yes I know the department was busy but some care or explanation for the long wait needed to be given. This is not the first time I have been left waiting for an appointment. The last time was when an error was made with my appointment, and only one scan was scheduled and after an hour wait I was informed that I couldn't have the PET scan, only the CT scan as there wasn't enough time. Because of that I had to return to Apex the next day.
I know they are busy with hospital patients also but I feel explanations should be given and people not left wondering how long they would be waiting.
