"Appointment cancel when I arrived for it"

About: Kalgoorlie Mental Health Inpatient Service

(as a parent/guardian),

My child have an appointment recently at Kalgoorlie Hospital. I have to take the day off work to attend this appointment. When we arrived for the appointment ( 15min early) I was told that someone should of called me but this never happened. I waited for 30 minutes in the waiting room I was then told that there was no doctor available to see my child. In my opinion, this is crazy and very upsetting.

I am disappointed to read of your recent experience and very sorry this happened to you. It must have been exceptionally frustrating, especially as you took the day off work to attend this appointment. There has obviously been poor communication and organisation from our side and I appreciate you identifying this with us so that we can look at opportunities to improve. Making improvements to the accessibility of our services is especially important when it involves parents and children.
