"Beautiful, kind and gentle"

About: Royal Hospital for Women / Macquarie Ward

(as the patient),

Recently I came home from one week in the Royal hospital on a Monday I have bladder surgery and then they supposed to discharge me on the Friday but because the urine was red they said I have to stay longer. It was like holiday.

I had my private room with tv, balcony, everyone I met was beautiful the nurses, the doctors, the ladies who brought food everybody, I couldn’t ask for more beautiful people. Every 2 hours they checked my blood and temp and made sure that I never felt any pain and gave me medicine every 2 hours then they helped me to shower.

I remember one doctor, I told him I was broncos support and then on Sunday we celebrated the football together. I will miss everyone, I found they were all so beautiful, so kind, so gentle, everybody! I can’t remember all their names, but to name a few: Erin, Annie, Crystal, Kate, Stephanie, Dr Surya, Gemma, Freya, Tash, Claudia, Lilly. I have no more than gratitude, I think people don’t appreciate but, in my opinion, we have one the best public hospitals in the world.

Dear frostbg39,

Thank you so much for taking the time especially after your recent major bladder surgery to post your kind feedback regarding your experience with The Royal Hospital for Women.

Sometimes it is necessary to have to stay a little longer than expected in hospital following major surgery to continue your care until you have recovered well enough to return home. It is great that you felt like your week spent in the Royal Hospital for Women was like a holiday and that you were so happy with your room and facilities.

It is wonderful to hear that you found the care and assistance from all the staff so helpful in making you comfortable and pain free which is so important during your recovery.

Your post will be shared with the Macquarie Ward staff and all the staff you have taken the time to mention, who work hard to provide the best care possible and I know they will really appreciate your lovely feedback.

I wish you all the very best and a speedy recovery.

Kind regards,

Maria
