A few weeks ago I attended Busselton Health Campus for a Total Hip Replacement operation under surgeon Dr Simon. I had been waiting for over two years for this operation and was very excited that finally my operation was to happen. Prior to the operation I had been invited to attend a seminar at which various specialists and therapists involved in the surgery gave out information relating to the surgery. I felt this was well organised and thorough. It was great to be able to ask questions and to take home leaflets which detailed every aspect of the procedures. On the day of the operation I went into the operating theatre at 8am after meeting theatre staff including Dr Luke, anaesthetist, who explained how he would administer the necessary drugs including a general anaesthetic. In the theatre I met Simon and the rest of the team. The operation went smoothly and the next thing I knew was that I was in recovery and under the care of the excellent nursing staff at Busselton Health Campus, Ward One. I was most impressed by the genuine care and attention shown by all the staff on Ward One. Everything was explained and questions answered patiently. Staff responded promptly to the call button and I was helped along the way to recovery. I felt the OT and Physic staff worked together seamlessly to help me with exercises and mobility.
I have nothing but praise for the way I was treated at Busselton Health Campus during this experience and I would like to offer my deepest thanks to all the staff I encountered.
