"I was admitted to Emergency during an extended angina attack"

About: Kerang Hospital / Urgent Care Centre

(as the patient),

I was immediately admitted, and asked to describe my situation. The Sister on duty-Courtney, listened carefully, made sure I was comfortable, then took blood for a sample, and carried out an ECG. Another Sister, Megan, dropped in to make sure I was OK.

I remained there for 6 hours, but started feeling much better after about an hour. A second blood test indicated I had not suffered a heart attack, so that is when I was driven home.

My doctor happened to be on call for part of the day and visited me twice. My wife sat with me for a good deal of my stay.

The hospital kitchen staff looked after me well, giving my cups of tea, lunch, and afternoon tea.

It was good that I did go to the hospital as my blood pressure did drop, as did my pulse rate for quite a number of hours.

Dear Ascot,

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your recent experience at KDH Urgent Care Centre.

I am pleased to hear that you were well looked after and thoroughly checked, and thankful that you did not sustain a heart attack. It is important to KDH that you were able to receive the treatment and tests you required in your local community and that we could provide that service for you.

I am pleased to hear that the kitchen staff made sure your were also well looked after with lunch and afternoon tea.
