"Women and children’s ward"

A huge thank you to the staff involved in the recent birth of my baby and Bendigo Health. What started as a very low risk and straight forward labour unfortunately ended in an emergency c-section.

I was hugely disappointed and very overwhelmed with lots of staff rushing around the room, but a huge shout out to Obs reg Katie who reassured me, ensured I knew what was going on and asked for consent at every stage despite the situation.

Another big thank you to Monash med student who stayed with me when my partner & bub went to special care. She was with me throughout the entire experience even past her normal hours and was so great to have someone to talk to instead of being alone. An emergency c-section was not something I felt prepared for and I’m so impressed with the follow-up of midwives & doctors who were checking in on both my own well-being and my partner's post birth.
