Recently, my son ruptured his kidney whilst playing rugby in Busselton. He was ambulanced from the rugby pitch to Ed at Busselton Hospital in great pain, shock and distress.
My son received the very best care from all involved.
The 2 ambulance officers (1 male 1 female - sorry I forget their names) were amazing! They were gentle, patient and very kind.
Once we arrived at Ed we were treated with respect and kindness. The lady who was 'manning the door' inside was very helpful - she kept checking to see when I was allowed in.
The nursing staff were very much 'on the ball'. They were kind, informative and attentive. They, along with the ED doctor, kept us informed the entire time. They responded to a quickly changing circumstances in my son's condition.
I am an RN who works at a tertiary hospital in Perth and I must say I was very impressed with the high level of care received here. Thank you all soooo much. Even working in the system sometimes we forget how we as health professionals are viewed by those we care for. I would never be able to tell you in words at how grateful we are as family for the lovely care we received.
