"Excellent service from the MGP at KEMH"

About: King Edward Memorial Hospital / Maternity

(as the patient),

Thanks to midwives Jess and Ginny and the overall Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) I had a very positive and calm drug-free birth at King Edward Memorial Hospital.

Jess was very supportive throughout my antenatal appointments, even during the covid restrictions, and provided me with valuable resources and info to support my pregnancy and birth plans.

Unfortunately Jess was unable to make the birth in the end due to covid, however, Ginny was rostered on that night and was just as wonderful and supportive throughout the whole birth process. She was very reassuring, patient and positive every step of the way.

The aftercare at home was also great by the midwives who all provided helpful information around breastfeeding.

I could not have asked for a better antenatal and birthing experience at a hospital. Thank you to everyone for the great care I received! I highly recommend joining the MGP program.

Dear bonanzacb43,

Congratulations on the birth of your child. Thank you for your comments on the Care Opinion site.

We are incredibly proud of our Midwifery Group Practice team and the way they work with our patients to achieve positive outcomes during the pregnancy and birthing journey. It is pleasing to hear that you had a positive experience with our MGP model of care, and that you felt safe and supported throughout your pregnancy and birth and that you received the same level of support during your recovery at home. I am pleased to hear that despite the changes due to the COVID-19 situation, you received a high level of care for your pregnancy.

Thank you for sharing your story and we will be sure to send your appreciative comments to all the staff involved, with special thanks to Jess and Ginny.

I wish you and your family all the best for the future.
