I attended at Fiona Stanley Hospital for an Echocardiogram. The results of the imaging caused some concern with the Sonographer and although the Outpatient Clinic was not open, within minutes two Cardiologists were in attendance for a consultation, examining the images produced and my history. The conclusion was that further investigations should be undertaken and a review of medications be completed.
Taking into consideration my current condition, history and that I reside two-hours from the hospital it was concluded that admission was the best course of action. I was asked for my opinion about this option with a later and concise conversation taking place. Feeling somewhat guilty I explained that I could just not step outside of my life like that if I could find another option. My comments were listened to and respected. During conversations that occurred, the option of admission was raised again allowing me the opportunity to reassess my original decision. I was informed that appointments would be made for me to revisit Cardiology ASAP, with an attempt to arrange everything having regard that I needed to travel. By midday the next day further appointments had been arranged, all for one day making it easier for me.
I would like to thank all those in Cardiology in regard to the treatment and attention they have given me.
