(as a parent/guardian),

"compassion cannot be taught, you're either blessed with it or not" 

I accompanied my daughter to KEMH ED early one morning recently and we would just like to thank Midwife Karen for her care, kindness and genuine compassion. Despite there being only 1 doctor on duty, making it a long wait, Karen made us completely comfortable. Warm blankets, offers of tea or coffee and thoroughly professional care. What a beautiful person ! Thank you Karen !

We would also like to thank the lovely Doctor who was just as compassionate. She certainly seemed to have her work cut out, flying solo in the department on nightshift. 

Hats off to you both.

Dear Mom and daughter,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with the Women and Newborn Health Service (WNHS) Emergency Centre (EC). I am pleased to hear that your daughter was treated with compassion and supported by Karen during her treatment in our EC. The emotional distress that can be caused when one faces any type of medical treatment is overwhelming and having empathetic and compassionate staff to support can make the journey a little easier. I will ensure that your comments are passed onto the EC staff.
