I want to thank the anaesthetist who was so great about my extreme needle phobia. He made feel much calmer and because of this I was not terrified. He did not make fun of me and was respectful that needles give me extreme fear.
Because of my social situation and financial barriers I had to access Angel Flight and Elizabeth Hunter Lodge (Heather)- they were friendly and kept me informed. The pilot even helped me get dinner.
I want to thank Suzana- who called me and then let Social Work know. Without this call I wouldn't have got the help I did.
I would like to especially thank Social Worker Sarah- without her help I wouldn't have been able to get here and I would be blind. In many part of my life I am alone and don't have others to draw upon and Sarah and the team have made me feel like I am not alone in overcoming the barriers to getting healthcare.
I want to thank the admitting nurse when I got here- he was very thorough and extremely friendly. He went out of his way to make me feel comfortable.
I think it might be helpful if doctors/nurses are more understanding of the needs of patients from rural areas and that I might know what the local options are.
