"Lost and heartbroken"

My parent was meant to have a triple bypass but ended up being a quad bypass (open-heart) we did not know anything involved. My parent can not remember anything about being in hospital or what happened.  My parent knew their risks were high but we accept we may lose them but my parent wants to be with my other parent who recently passed. My parent regrets having it done as they used adrenaline to help. They got flown home with fluid on their legs. Since returning back my parent still can't walk they are talking about a wheelchair, they can use their hands, and on a daily basis I am telling them everything over again. My parent keeps saying they did not want to be there.
