I would just like to send my deepest thanks to the MFM team and the nursing team and doctors at the Royal Hospital for Women in Randwick. Recently I had received the sad news that a much wanted pregnancy was likely not going to end in a healthy live birth, so a decision was made to end the pregnancy. The empathy and compassion that was shown both on the day of diagnosis and during the procedure was exceptional. I was treated with respect and care throughout. The way that a sensitive scenario such as this is managed can have lasting effects on the well-being of the patient, be that good or bad, and I felt that in this case it was perfectly managed and had a positive effect for me. While it was an awful thing to have happen to me, the experience itself was made a lot more bearable because it was handled so well by the staff. Despite feelings of sadness on the day, I also felt calm and at ease.
