"War Memorial Hospital Sydney"

About: War Memorial Hospital

(as a service user),

My husband has Parkinson's disease and we went for an assessment for the Parkinson's Clinic at the hospital.

We were treated by everyone there with care and compassion.

Linda who made our appointment was there to greet us and make sure everything went according to plan.

When there was little delay with seeing the doctor, we were allowed to sit in the sunshine outside and were called in when the doctor arrived. The kind nurse came all the way out and helped my husband walk back into the hospital and even offered to carry and store my heavy bag.

Dr Hashima (I hope I got the spelling right) was extremely caring and informative. She explained everything carefully, without talking down to my husband. She treated him with dignity and respect and was very compassionate when talking about more sensitive issues.

Verena the physiotherapist was exceptionally informative and kind. It was to be an assessment, but she managed to give us some valuable tips about coping with my husband's mobility issues, giving us helpful drawings and instructions on the spot.

The team made every effort to get us on the bus on time, accompanying us all the way.

This is an outstanding hospital experience. The place doesn't feel like a sterile facility at all. It is a warm and welcoming place.

My husband attended an IREAP program here a year ago and the standard of support and care was equally good.

I wish I could do more to show them my appreciation.

Thank you to everyone at the War Memorial Hospital . You make a huge difference to our lives.

Dear eridanusje96,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share the positive experience you and your husband had at War Memorial Hospital.

The staff you met were thrilled to hear your feedback!

We were pleased to hear how well the multidisciplinary team all worked together to support you and your husband during your journey, from making the appointment to the transport home and everything in between!

We wish you both the best and hope to keep making a positive difference.

Kind regards,
