I was admitted from POW hospital on a Monday to the royal womens Macquarie ward with a ruptured cyst on my ovary. I couldn’t have asked for a better team to look after me.
The staff in ED were fantastic and had me seen and given pain relief within 30 mins of presenting to the hospital. Anna and Emer the doctors looking after me in ED were angels!
My ward doctor Sara was one of the kindest doctors I have ever met in my life, and kept me updated every step of the way and spent time to sit by my beside and talk me through everything that was going on as well as ringing my partner as soon as I got out of surgery to come back up to the hospital.
The nurses on the ward were amazing and I had the best bunch of girls looking after me during the day and at night, nothing was a bother to them.
I’ve never been admitted to hospital before and especially with being at the other end of the world away from home made it even worse but everyone was patient and kind.
My anaesthetist Richie calmed me down before surgery and put me at ease before and after the surgery. I just want to say the biggest thank you to everyone who I met during my stay! Yous are a great bunch! Thank you to the nurses Amiee, Hee, Mary, Crystal, Jodie and Rosie (to name a few) yous are an amazing bunch!
"Yous are a great bunch!"
