Prior to coming to Logan Family Recovery I was supported by LLW service in Strathpine. While working with LLW in the community I have realised I needed more support in learning new skills to continue on my sober recovery journey.
My using started 7 years ago when I found my self in a unhealthy toxic relationship with an addict. This relationship has cased me distress and the only way I felt I can deal with my feelings and situation was to start using my self. I was given free drugs and encouraged to use, for the relationship to work. Due to lack of knowledge of the support services that can be accessed I felt trapped and could not see a way out.
My first introduction to LLW was through Child Safety service. I started accessing community service who informed me of the residential service I can be supported in with my child. I have now completed the 12 weeks in Logan Family Recovery and feel I have been able to have a space to reflect, heal and gain new knowledge on how to deal with my emotions and life in general. And in tern how to be the best mother I can be. I wold like to thank the staff at LFR and particularly my Treatment Facilitator Branka for all their support through my stay.
