"Pregnancy & birth"

About: King Edward Memorial Hospital / Maternity

(as the patient),

I had a great pregnancy journey with KEMH which I will cherish forever and it's because of the care that I got from MGP.

I felt Ginny went above and beyond to take care of my well-being, all the awareness program and midwives guidance prepared me ahead. Ginny's guidance and motivation during labor was really helpful, it's beyond explanation, it made me not to give up. I feel very blessed to have Ginny as my midwife.

Home visits after birth were of great help, esp for new moms in my experience. Ginny was so considerate, encouraging and kind. It also helped with my mental health, breastfeeding, gave assurance on baby's health. Big thumbs up for the home visit programme, I wish it reaches all mom's and babies, it's extremely helpful.

There are many instances during my pregnancy journey were I was worried and scared, Ginny and all other midwives I saw gave me the strength, encouragement and care to get through it. They are real superheroes with such a great heart. I am really blessed to have Ginny, she is so kind, empathetic and always made sure that I feel safe, you are an inspiration and a great human. You will be greatly missed. Thanks a lot for taking such a great care of me and my baby. Thank you for the entire MGP group and doctors, you make hospital like a home. I couldn't thank you all enough.

It would be great if hospital allows one support person to stay overnight. This will reduce the burden on the staff during the night and I believe also helps the patient to recover.

Dear cricketbh73,

Congratulations on the birth of your baby and thank you for taking the time to provide feedback regarding your experience with the Women and Newborn Health Service (WNHS).

I am pleased to hear that you had a positive experience with our Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) model of care. It is lovely to hear that you received the care and continuity you needed to support you through your pregnancy and the birth of your baby and that you received the same level of support during your recovery at home.

Staff at KEMH understand how important it is to our patients to have a friendly, familiar face during what can be a very intimidating experience.

We are so proud of our staff and the great level of continuous care that they provide.

The support that is provided by a spouse or partner is invaluable, but our current facilities do not allow us to facilitate this. However, this is being considered in the planning for our new hospital.

I will ensure your feedback is provided Ginny and to all involved in your journey.

Once again, thank you for providing us with this great feedback. I wish you and your family all the best for the future.
