Birthing in Margaret River Hospital.
I was supported by the Margaret River Midwifery Group Program throughout my pregnancy, birth and postpartum journey. It was brilliant to be supported by a regular midwife and my local GP and made the birth extra special to share the moment with staff I felt safe with and had come to know. It was awesome to be able to return home after a day in hospital and be regularly visited by my midwife as much or as little as I needed - this also helped my toddler transition to being a big brother and allowed me to be home together with him.
I felt very safe and supported birthing in the Margaret River hospital. I loved the birthing suite with its warm lighting, lovely smells, local nature depicted in paintings and photos on the walls and the private outdoor courtyard. It felt homely despite being in a hospital setting.
All staff I dealt with were incredibly professional, warm and friendly; they also managed my situation with care and calm when I required ambulance transfer to Bunbury Hospital for surgery due to my placenta being retained.
